Stirring the Pot is a cookbook that celebrates the recipes, that shape lives around the table. Created as an editorial publication, the book brings together dishes shared by friends, family, and loved ones, transforming a collection of recipes into a vibrant archive of memories and experiences.
The project approaches each recipe as a personal story. Each contribution is named after the person behind it, turning every spread into a portrait of both a dish and its maker. Family favourites sit alongside international comfort foods, cherished heirlooms, experimental creations, and recipes passed down through generations, reflecting the diversity of the community that shaped the book.
Visually, the publication combines bold hand-drawn typography, playful collage techniques, vibrant photography, and layered storytelling elements. Inspired by the energy of shared meals and well-loved recipe books, the design embraces imperfection, humour, and nostalgia. Objects, ingredients, photographs, and personal memorabilia are woven throughout the layouts, creating a sense of discovery with every turn of the page.
The result is a cookbook that is as much about people as it is about food.
